gay military
Another one from my mother. I can't vouch for the authenticity of the quote, but I wanted to share nonetheless.
When I was in the military, they gave me a medal for killing two men and a discharge for loving one. -Leonard Matlovich, a gay Vietnam Veteran (1943-1988)
Viagra Switch
My mother sent me this funny picture. In college I had something similar on my light switch... I wonder if I can find a picture of that.

what does it mean to be pro-choice?
I received this e-mail from Planned Parenthood and want to share.
What does it mean to be “prochoice”? That’s the question we’re asking Harold Ford Jr. this month as he travels around New York State contradicting himself. We just want to set the record straight.
A prochoice individual supports a women's right to access safe, legal abortion care without government interference.
What does it mean to be a prochoice elected official?
Prochoice elected officials trust women to make decisions about what is best for them and their families. A pro choice elected official always works to uphold these rights – not just when it is politically expedient.
What does Harold Ford Jr. think it means to be prochoice?
We’ll let him speak for himself:
“I’m prolife. I don’t run from that.” – Harold Ford Jr., MSNBC interview with Tucker Carlson, 2006
“I was not prochoice.” Harold Ford Jr., FOX News interview with Alan Colmes, 2006
Harold Ford Jr. has a nearly decade-long history of taking anti-choice votes, including voting twice for the federal abortion ban without any exceptions to protect a woman's health.
Is Harold Ford Jr. prochoice?
We don’t think so.

CBS
Many organizations are currently working to encourage CBS from airing controversial ads during the Superbowl, as has been their long-standing tradition.
After tens of thousands of letters were sent to CBS, the NFL, and the Superbowl advertising executives, CBS has now claims to have changed its policy on accepting advocacy ads. But its decision to debut this policy by associating itself with the anti-choice, anti-equality Focus on the Family raises serious questions about CBS policies and bias -- and leads many to this question: What Does CBS Stand For?
As part of their efforts, the Women's Media Center has created a video which you can watch here.

Wondering how to female ejaculate?
I got a call a few nights ago from someone wondering if "squirting" was normal or even possible.
As always, I directed said person to Babeland. Here is a link to Babeland's "How To" guide for female ejaculation.
The basic steps Babeland suggests are as follow (you should go to the site to get all the info):
1. Exercise your pelvic muscles often
2. Pee first
3. Put something under you so you're not afraid of making a mess
4. Take some time to get aroused (take your time)
5. Get some lube and feel the inside of the vagina (again, take your time)
6. Focus on the front wall of the vagina (towards your belly button) to find your G-spot
7. (as they put it) Make a conscious effort to ejaculate
8. Add a toy specifically designed for the G-spot and/or the clitoris
Brief Interviews With Hideous Men
I don't understand this movie (and I hate this movie).
Men view women as things?
All women should experience rape?
All people should experience rape?
Women want to be raped?
Men have daddy issues?
Men lie constantly?
Men want women to stay young forever?
WHAT IS THIS MOVIE ABOUT???
The Economist on Abortions
My mother recently sent me an article from The Economist, titled "A bit better," about abortion (and contraceptive) rates around the world. It's been a little while since it's publication, so this article is now archived and can only be viewed online with a membership. Either way, I had a paper copy so I will give you some highlights.
The article discusses a report by the Guttmacher Institute, a pro-choice think-tank, which suggests that the number of abortions is declining, particularly in countries with legalized abortions. The number of illegal abortions, however, is staying the same.
The report also discusses an estimated drop in the number of abortions from over 45 million in 1995 to fewer than 42 million in 2003. Most of this decline is seen in countries where abortions are legal and other contraceptive methods are common.
Interestingly, poor countries are those which remain tough on prohibiting abortions.
Aid policy has also notably changed with the Obama Administration's overturning of the Mexico City gag rule, which prohibited family-planning charities that received American aid money from providing or promoting abortions.
As noted by the article, the root of most abortions is unwanted pregnancy. Worldwide, the rate of unwanted pregnancies is decreasing. In 1995, 69 out of 1,000 women reported unwanted pregnancies, and in 2008, 55 out of 1,000 women reported unwanted pregnancies. The numbers, however, were much lower in poor countries (57 per 1,000) and much high in rich countries (42 per 1,000).
I'm at an Islanders game and this man's name is Dipeitro. Unfortunately or not, his chant is "DP, DP, DP!" I couldn't hold myself back from laughing. Sometimes I'm just an immature kid with my head in the gutter.

TrueCompanion
Looking into the new sex robots at TrueCompanion. Tell me what you know. I'll tell you what I find out.
Here's an article about these robots. I think it's kind of freaky that ''She's a companion. She has a personality. She hears you. She listens to you. She speaks. She feels your touch. She goes to sleep. We are trying to replicate a personality of a person." Apparently there's also a male robot in the works.
My immediate thought about these dolls were ways to have threesomes or anything kinky without the mess. After threesomes I thought about sex surrogacy. Though I don't necessarily know enough about sex surrogacy, I could see how these robots could help, but I could also see how they could hinder. Think Lars and the Real Girl.

Anyone But Me has been nominated for some Streamy Awards as well as for 10 awards on We Love Soaps. Cool thing is that you can VOTE! for Anyone But Me to WIN! the Streamy Awards!
Vagina Products
The Frisky has this list up of five "Vagina Products" that they have deemed unnecessary and harmful.
As much as I have problems with women wanting to look prepubescent by removing body hair which develops after puberty, I am not willing to suppose that this is something women should be scolded for doing. We all get off in our own ways and like to feel sexy by doing different things. Some women like candles, some women like leather, some women like tasting like cherry pie.
What I'm most concerned about is not judging what other women do with their sex lives so long as they are informed, safe, and consensual.
So what's on this list?
1. Betty Beauty
2. Linger
3. My New Pink Button
4. Vaginal Cleansing Film
5. Vaginal douches such as Sama Douche
I know that Betty Beauty is actually safe if used correctly, so I don't really see any harm in that.
I don't know anything about Linger, My Pink Button, Vaginal Cleansing Film or Sama Douche, I do know that there are ingredients in products which are/can be harmful to the vagina (such as sugar) and that douching in and of itself can be harmful (when not prescribed by a doctor).
Before I can judge Linger or My Pink Button, I would have to inquire a bit further. There are safe oral sex products, such as any of the lubes I tested at Babeland, so it's not that flavoring the vulva is in and of itself an unhealthy decision.
Though, I can say that using Vaginal Cleansing Film or Sama Douche when not prescribed to do so would probably not be a healthy decision.
And if you're really looking for something to spice up your vulva, may I suggest Zestra.
Sarah on Fox
To further Fox's mission to serve the conservative branch of the Republican party, they have now hired the famed Sarah Palin as a "commentator." At least they're admitting she's not reporting news. Here's the AP story.
